APOKRIES (Mostra) CARNIVAL

Located between Greece's Northeast Aegean islands and directly opposite the Cesme peninsula, Homeros's island of Chios, which is the most important carnival of "Chios Island" from the Phoenicians. In this festival, where the people of the island began to prepare for three months in advance, we prepared a program that you will enjoy.
Our high speed boat which will depart at 09.00 in the morning, reaches to the port of Chios only after 20 MINUTES. You have free time after customs clearance. We will meet at the time of our guide (10:30 pm local time) at our Ertürk gum office and go to Thymiana village where the carnival will take place.
Thymiana is famous for its red decoration stone and it is one of the big and beautiful villages of Chios. The center of Agios Efstritos Church is one of the centers of the carnival. Mostra's carnival dates back to centuries before Medieval times, when the pirates rode in the Aegean. A village close to the city, on a Sunday when Thymiana's people had fun, the pirates attacked the island. The people who learned that the pirates were coming from, were fed up with the pirate attacks they were frequently subjected to, and by the enthusiasm of fun, they gathered the courage to fight the pirates and struggled with them. This time, the villagers defeated the pirates, and with the excitement of being the gates of the war, the pirates were there. So they hung. And this meaningful day, which represents unity and solidarity, has begun to be celebrated in order to keep in mind every year. Mostra day; The island's people, and especially the Thymiana, are celebrated in a local festive atmosphere with various treats as medieval dresses and a fun fair where all sorts of costumes and masks are used. Folk dances, especially called "Talimi", in which the struggle of the pirates and the people of the island are enlivened, is one of the most fun parts of the carnival. We will give this carnival, which is made by the people of Chios, to be more fun, and we will give a break at this village square. We will return to Chios port for our catamaran which will move to 16:30 (local time). Carefully and meticulously prepared to be with us in our program, we will be happy to discuss in another program.
